Note: This is a re-post from my previous blog, Good Morning and Shine, which was then transformed into a regional blog, A Brush of Southern, currently on hiatus. I still love this pattern and especially so close to Christmas, I thought it would be a shame not to share again!
Recently I have fallen in love with Lion Brand’s Wool Ease Thick & Quick. Seriously the last few trips to Michaels that is all I have gotten.
Working with this yarn is fun and quick, plus I love it’s bulky size and texture, not to mention it really keeps you warm. Thus, I thought this yarn would be perfect for a big, chunky scarf that doubles as fashionable and functional. I must say, I’m pretty pleased by the way it has turned out. My favorite part is the texture on both sides of the scarf!

Thick & Chunky Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern:
Using this pattern the scarf can loop once around the neck to make a snug fit, or can hang loose when you get too warm. This pattern is very simple and only requires basic crochet skills. This took me about 4 hours to make, going slow.
Materials:
- 2 skeins of Lion Brand® Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® Yarn (I bought the cream color at Michaels)
- Size 9 crochet hook
Terms:
Ch=chain
Sl st= Slip Stitch
Sc=single crochet
Pattern:
Row 1: Ch 130 to create the foundation, then making sure the chain is straight, Sl st the end to the beginning of the chain (130)
Row 2: Sc in every chain (130)
Row 3-16: Sc in the back loop of every stitch (130) Note: Do NOT Sl st at the end of every row. This creates a seam. Since this is a continuous round there is no need to use stitch markers or counting stitches.
Then finish of the scarf by weaving in the ends! It’s that simple!
If you were to add more chains to the foundation to make the scarf not so tight on your neck.
I would love to hear how your patterns go, so please post pictures and/or comment for questions!
