Hello, lovelies!
You may have noticed on my Instagram posts that I’ve been playing around with fur yarn. I’m not going to lie, I love fur yarn!
I concede that it is a little hard to work with at first, but just like anything, once you get the hang of it, it’s actually fun and works up quickly. Not to mention of course that it is beautiful and so so soft!

My Fuzzy Scrunchy pattern is a great beginner’s pattern for using fur yarn.
I’m also providing a free scrunchy holder printable, which you can download here.
Materials
- Bulky faux fur yarn such as Lion Brand Go for Faux or Hobby Lobby Fur the Moment
- Goody Hair Tie
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle

Pattern
Pattern Note: If you are using a hair tie that is different from the one I am, depending on the size of the hair tie, you may have to add more stitches. However, you’ll see the pattern is very versatile.
Take your hook inside the hair tie, and yarn over. Chain 1 to begin working on the hair tie. Each stitch going forward will be worked on the hair tie like the CH 1.
Round 1: SC 22 stitches around the band. (22)
Pattern Note: Personally, I like the Fuzzy Scrunchy with only one round. I think it is very dainty. If you agree, slip stitch into the CH 1. Leave a 5″ tail and with your yarn needle, weave it in very thoroughly. I call this my Fuzzy Scrunchy Mini. If you prefer a fuller scrunchy, then continue on to Round 2.
Round 2: You will be increasing in each stitch from Round 1. Complete 2 SC in each stitch. (44)
To finish off, slip stitch in the first SC of Round 2. Leave a 5″ tail and with your yarn needle, weave in the tail very thoroughly.
